Final Father's Day card for the hubby/Use Your Stash Challenge

This is my final Father's Day card. It is for my hubby. He is obviously into his motorcyles. The top pic is of the front of the card. Middle pic is the inside. The bottom pic is of the picture we bought for him for his Father's Day present (used it for the inspiration for the card; thought it would be cute to make a matching card for the present). It is for the Use Your Stash Challenge blog---this week's challenge was to use paint.
Here is what I used:
Black cardstock for card base
Making Memories Scrapbook Acrylic Paints: Black, Red, Grocery Bag, White
Stampin' Up! Born to Ride stamp set for images on front
Stampin' Up All Year Cheer II for sentiment inside card
I have NEVER painted before but have to say I had a BLAST. I really only painted the background and mimiced the actual painting but that was way too much fun! I also used the paints on the stamps to stamp the images and sentiment.

One Father's Day Card/ Four challenges........

Here is the Father's Day Card I made for my dad. I just love this color combo and it just happens to be the color challenge for this week. Here are the challenges this card is for:
Cuttlebug Spot: Father's Day card/Masculine card
Rosie- Dee's: Turquoise and Chocolate color combo
Our Creative Corner: Border punches
All Sorts: Triangles
  • patterned paper: source unknown
  • brown cs
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder: Argle
  • square brads
  • copper foiling
  • copper tape
  • copper adhesive letters
  • brown inkpad
  • Studio G clear stamps
  • Versamark Dazzle Champagne inkpad
  • EK Success border punch

Made card out of patterned paper; embossed a brown cs square and cut diagonally and adhered to card; stamped diamond patterened stamp on brown cs w/ versamark dazzle; cut top and bottom edges w/border punch; adhered strips of copper tape underneath then adhered to card; Added "Dad" to card; glued copper foiling to silver brads and added to card diagonally. Stamped Happy Father's Day inside card w/brown inkpad.

Elementary School Grad Card

This is a simple little graduation card I threw together this morning for my friend Sheryl's daughter---Kaitlyn. She is gradutatin from 5th grade----woo-hoo!
What I used:
  • penguin die cut
  • yellow and black cs (black is white core)
  • Cuttlebug mini embossing folders
  • yellow embroidery floss
  • eyelet and Crop-a-dile
  • sanding block
  • pop dots
  • black pen
  • deckle edge cutting blade

Believe it or not, other than the black cs to make the card base, all the supplies were scraps---including the penguin which was leftover from my son's classroom project a couple of years ago. Their mascot is the Penguin and school colors are black and yellow.

I hand made the graduate cap w/tassle. I embossed the You Did It on white core black cs then sanded to reveal the white. The inside has the same thing but with the Congrats embossing folder (not shown). I also sanded the edges of the card to kinda create a frame of white. Pop-dotted the grad cap for dimension.

Ultimate Card Showdown Entry #2

So I just had to do one more card for this challenge---2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown. Went with an entirely different style this time. Had to use my Tim Holtzy stuff don't cha know!?! :)
Now for the recipe:
  • Distress inks by Ranger: Broken China and Peeled paint
  • sponge
  • cream cs for card base
  • various ribbons/metallic floss
  • manilla tag
  • Stamps by Stampers Anonymous by Tim Holtz
  • raw chipboard flourish by Memory Boutique
  • scalloped border sticker by Memory Boutique
  • spray mister by Ranger
  • craft sheet
  • Swirl Aqua Suede paper (bought from my LSS before it went under; manufacture unknown)
  • Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder

I started by blotting ink from both inkpads onto craft sheet and spritzing with water w/mister. Rubbed tag face down onto this mixture creating a water effect; stamped image and sentiment on tag; edged tag w/inks using a sponge; attached ribbon and metallic floss to tag; created card base from cream cs;cut panel of suede paper and adhered to card; added sticker border underneath along w/striped ribbon; inked edges of card w/both distress inks using sponge then spritzed w/mister; inked up chipboard flourish w/Peeled Paint inkpad then ran thru Cuttlebug with Distressed Stripes embossing folder; adhered to card

Have so much fun, AGAIN! Thanks for looking; loving all the comments too, ladies..........
