Under the Sea Thank Yous

Made these for my friend Jae's daughter's (Erika's)b-day party thank notes . The theme was Under the Sea. I was inspired by my fellow crafter, Marti/Pezadoodle (see blogs I follow). She posted a mermaid card on her blog that made me want to make these. Check it out!! Her mermaid is absolutely adorable! Thanks, Marti, for the inspiration!!

My submission for the Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired #20

Okay, so here is my card for the Cuttlebug Challenge Inspiration #20. Hope you like it. It is for my BFF Sheryl, of course! :)

Card and matching Envie

I made this card for my son's teacher who just got engaged on Valentine's Day! I have been dying to play with acetate in my cuttlebug and use ink. Sooooooooo, I embossed the acetate with the swirl embossing folder; painted the top with mint green acrylic paint which I wiped mostly off w/a papertowel just before it was completely dry. I used a black Stazon ink pad and rubbed it on the back side of the acrylic; the sentiment is a clear sticker on its own acetate (which I left on); I adheared that down with mint green heart eyelets to white cs and matted on black cs edged with my wave blade on my cutter; punched a square in the acetate and mounted all on the white card; I die cut multiple size squares frames out of white cs and embossed with swirls---then rubbed black ink pad over embossed parts; I framed the square cut out with one of these square frames; placed the metal diamond ring embellishment (which I had rubbed slighted with the mint green acyrlic paint for effect) in center of punched out square. Finally, I ran the envie thru the cuttlebug folder and added some scraps from the project to decorate it.

Valentines for the kiddos

Here are my valentines for my daughter and son. Used my cuttlebug to emboss and die cut the heart love postage stamp which I embellished with a white ink pen. Embossed the pink glossy paper with a hearts fiskars plate. Added the pink polka dot ribbon to complete it. In both cards I used corragated cardboard which I inked with matching ink pads. For the blue card I embossed the heart and background paper with a fiskars musical note plate. Tied the heart on with raffia. Added musical note eyelets to the sentiment.

Pink Girly B-day Card

Okay, so I disappeared there for awhile, sorry. But I am back. Here is the Pink Girly B-day I made for my daughter's friend. I embossed the pink glossy paper then sanded it for make the white show thru. I cut and embossed the cupcake postage stamp then useda pink ink pad on it for effect. Also edged the entire card with same ink pad. Used scallop border punch on right side of card and added pink dots with a pen. Added the pink w/white polka dot ribbon and I was done.

Present/Card

This is the card I quickly made to present my son with his birthday present---guitar lessons! The stars were stamped and punched by Sheryl---using the SU stamp set with coordinating punch (sherylperkins.stampinup.net). All I did was cut the rockstar cs and adhere a piece of black cs with a lip onto it. Printed out the message on cream cs and cut to size; added the other two stars as a "pull" to pull it out. My son loved it too! :)

Valentine card in progress...........

Okay, so this is the card I am working on right now. It is the valentine for my dh. The pic on top shows the card so far with a patterned paper strip. The middle pic shows an acrylic heart diamond glazed onto text inked with peeled paint distress ink; I thought the text coincidentally went perfect with the theme :) The pic on the bottom is a cardboard heart "slipped" out of my dd's crafting supplies (yes, it has come to this, stealing craft supplies from my very own 5 year old daughter!); I added white crackle paint (a gift from my BF, Sheryl); once it dryed I inked it with the peeled paint green distress ink pad; then added diamond glaze; finished it off with sparkly blue fiber; will post final card once I complete it!!

2008 XMAS Card

Here is our 2008 Christmas Card. I was going for the simple, but elegant look. I inked the edges of the picture with alcohol inks (using the gold mixative with wild plum). I then matted the pic on burgandy cs and then onto gold cs; embellished with velvet burgandy ribbon on left side of card. Wrote the year with gold pen on bottom right of photo.

As promised, something recent!!

Here is a thank you card I made for a friend. Haven't given it to her yet so hope she doesn't visit my blog until I can get it to her :)

Used snowflake paper from a DCWV winter mat stack; the die cut is called Top Note from SU; this I got from my friend Sheryl who was experimenting. She painted it with blue paint; then clear heat embossed snowflakes; painted over that with white paint and before completely dry wiped over embossed design with damp towel to reveal snowflakes; I added a blue scalloped circle followed by a large blue and small white snowflake with blue jeweled brad in center; added sentiment on white cs, deckle edged and chalked w/blue chalk; added eyelets and threaded with sparkly blue fiber.

Snowflake shaker card

Here is a simple snowflake shaker card I made. Used foam tape under square window to add depth and allow for the small clear plastic balls in roll around inside. The snowflake on the window is a sticker; can't tell too well from pic but the white cs is embossed with snowflake design.

Mother's Day Card from last year

Here are both my mom's and my MIL's cards I did last year.

microscope slide card

Used a pink card and stamped bottom portion with brown flowers; added ripped, corrogated brown cs to center of card; embellished with polka-dot ribbon over brown ribbon; stamped sentiment to top right; stamped and heat embossed flower stamp on microscope slide; added flower rub-on to left side of slide (which I hadn't stamped on); added pink mat to that and adhered to card with pop-dots.

PinWheel b-day card

Simple card with added pinwheel accent; made pinwheel then attached a q-tip (with both cotton ends cut off) as handle---then wound thin pink ribbon around handle before adhering to card; punched buckle from white cardstock and threaded ribbon thru.

Motorcycle b-day card

Made this b-day card for my DH. He is obviously into motorcycles. Stamped and embossed (with sivler embossing powder) the bike and wing images on black cs and cut out; adhered both with pop-dots; ripped the Harley paper for corner and accent strip under wings. Used metal pattern background paper; added silver square brads (slightly smudged with black ink to take away the shine) as accents.

Dria's 4th B-day party invite

This was the invitation to my daughter's b-day party. The envelopes were actual plastic CD slipcovers; I colored them with pink alcohol ink; I used pink bingo chips and rub-on for her name; the tiaras were pre-painted all different colors which I covered with black acrylic paint and added the pink jewels; the invite slips out and the last pic is of the back side; I embossed ( with silver embossing powder) the word Princess to show thru the front whole in the CD cover. Used rub-on for the circle tag on front to indicate 4th birthday and added pink jewel brad.
