Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Embossing

A quick entry for Simon Says Stamp and Show:  Embossing.  Used the 'Summer in Paris' cartridge for the dress forms. (5.5 inch size cutout). Used Martha Stewart's Doily Lace Border Punch, Fiskars' Oval border punch, Worn Lipstick Distress Ink by Ranger/Tim Holtz with blending tool, Provo Craft's Swiss Dot Embossing Folder, Basic Grey Designer paper, Damask background stamp by Great Impressions, Scalloped Oval punch by Stampin' Up!, Pink card and pink and white cardstocks, misc ribbon and tiny buttons. The sentiments were computer generated. The image on the matching envelope was done by using the negative portion of the cutout as a stencil and using the Damask stamp and the Worn Lipstick Distress ink with blending tool to color it in.

Metallic Pink!

Okay, so I actually got my mom's bday card done early!! This one is for Simon Says Stamp Challenges Blog---Girly Card. Think this one qualifies! I have recently gotten distracted w/a new obsession---metal!!! Been watching Ten Second Studios' Taco Tuesday archived videos like crazy---it's like potato chips, once you watch one you have to have the whole lot!! Anyway.....this is what I came up w/for Mom.

This is actually done w/faux metal as I am still waiting to get my metal by Ten Seconds. I embossed the 'metal' with Sizzix Embossing folders and inked w/Watermelon Alcohol Inks by Ranger. The main pink card is spritzed w/Perfect Pearls using a Mini Mister before layering other pieces. The middle piece was done by inking the edges of pink cs w/Worn Lipstick Distress Ink then background image was stamped and embossed w/white embossing powder. The decorative corners were embossing w/Cuttlebug ef and punched out w/EK Success photo corner punch. The borders on inside message were done w/Fiskars Heart Border punch. I inked the silver heart brads w/the Watermelon Alcohol inks (per Sheryl's suggestion) and doodled a bit w/a white pen (again, per Sheryl's idea).

Crafter Gone MAD!

Okay, so I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about making this card---should I question my sanity?! :) Another one for the Cuttlebug Challenges Rendezvous Monday CAS.
I ran the black panel thru my CB with the Sizzix texture plate Wild Dashes. Ran the Kraft strip thru my Fiskars crimper. On strip of white cs I used Fiskars Upper Crest border punch on both sides (idea I got from my Design Diva friend, June; see her award winning card here). Used SU! stamp from Cute and Curly set and used coordinating punch to punch it out. Birthday wishes stamp by See D's. Added ribbon and pop-dotted sentiment piece. Matted all on white card (hard to see in pic).

Cuttlebug Challenge Monday Rendezvous--Color Clean and Simple

This was fun and fairly simple! I used the CB ef Mosaic on main black panel---then sanded for white core to show thru; mounted this on white card; used CB ef formal squares on kraft paper for corners; I punched them out with the scalloped photo corner punch by Paper Shapers---then rubbed gently with a black ink pad on raised image; For the white panel---I used CB ef Swiss dots then used the Fiskars Oval punch Violets are Blue on right edge for deco border; mounted this on kraft paper that I paper pierced on top and bottom borders; added white and black ribbons to left of this panel. Stamped SU! Cute and Curly image with thank you sentiment on kraft paper and punched out with coordinating SU! punch---then popped dotted for dimension. Finally, added three silver square brads.

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #24: Emboss It Twice

So the challenge at Cuttlebug Spot was to emboss twice. On this card I embossed cream cs with the Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder; then inked over raised image with Shabby Shutters Distress ink. Then I took 3 (of the 4) small deco circle frame embossing folders and embossed over this paper; I inked these raised images with Broken China Distress Ink. Some of this ink also touched on the tiny bubbles and the inks mixed for a third color. I then used the SU scalloped cirlce punch to punch out all three of these images. I used Memory Boutique dp and corner flourish rub-ons. I inked the edges of the aqua cs with the Shabby Shutters Distress ink; Used Fiskars Effervesence border punch on the aqua cs and Cuttlebugged it with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder as well. Added the ribbon accents and the sentiment.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #11

This is for the Sunday Sketch Challenge on The Sweetest Thing blog. You can see the sketch there. For my card I used a Sizzix Embosslit for the butterfly. I cut it out of acetate. I used alcohol inks Bottle and Terra Cotta colors with the Copper mixative to color the butterfly. Used the same colors on cream cs to punch out the matching flowers. I added Stampin'Up green glitter to center of flowers. Used the Fiskars Effervesense border punch for the scalloped look on center horitzonal panel. Also, used Shabby Shutters Distress Ink for ink edges of cream panel that butterfly is mounted on. Heat embossed sentiment with bronze powder. Stamp is from Sandy Lions (I know, have been using that one a lot lately!). I believe the top panel of dp is Basic Grey and unsure about the vellum panel on bottom.

Alcohol Ink Collage Card

I held onto this card to post until after I shared it with my Design Divas. We had our first challenge within the group and it was to use alcohol inks on a project. This was mine. I used Cranberry and Gold Mixative alcohol inks on glossy cs. Used the script stamp, face stamp and small and large pocket watch stamps with StazOn ink pads (black and red). The key is from Lost and Found. The sentiment was done by using the Fiskars Upper Crest border punch on all three colors and punched on both sides to create the double top note effect. Then stamped sentiment and layered and pop-dotted it. Matted on gold cs and then onto a burgundy card.

Cuttlebug Challenges: Cuttlebug meets Cupcake, Be Inspired #24

Here is my submission for the Cupcake Challenge on Cuttlebug Challenges this week. I just simply added glitter as the frosting on the cupcake----it really didn't need much more! I am loving these challenges! I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the white layer which was punched on top with the Fiskars Violets are Blue Oval border punch; used the music embossing folder on next pink layer (this card was supposed to contain an ITune gift card); used the cupcake postage stamp embossing folder on the top layer. And used the Fiskars Effervesence border punch on the black layer on the right side of card.

Alcohol Inky B-day Card

I finally got around to using one of the pieces I made at Pez-a-Doodle's Alcohol Inky Event. This was made with glossy cs and alcohol inks. I used the new color, Cool Peri on this. Stamped and embossed with black powder the clock and face images. I added the "Time Flies" sentiment later. Double matted it, with border punch on white layer. Then added to a periwinkle card (which was Cuttlebugged with the Swirls Embossing folder). I still need to send Marti her thank you card for that but haven't gotten around to that either. So, thanks, we had a blast and you will get your card soon :)

Another Submission for Cuttlebug Challenges

Be Inspired #23: Using Punches in unusual ways! for Cuttlebug Challenges

So, I couldn't resist doing another card for this challenge. This time I went with the "hour glass" shape that I referred to in the first card I posted for this challenge. I created the hour glass by using the Fiskars Upper Crest border punch---punching it just once on each side of the 3/ inch piece of cs (lining up the image making sure to punch a mirror image). Then I cut the "tips" off (see above pictures). I did this 3 times, on white and gold cs and acetate. On the white and acetate layers I also trimed off the "frame"part of the hour glass. I glued micro beads onto the acetate layer to simulate sand; taped this on the white layer and then that onto the gold layer. The background paper was done with alcohol ink (Currant and Gold mixative colors) on glossy paper. I used the script embossing folder on this sheet and the Martha Stewart Eyelet border stamp on the bottom. Stamped and gold embossed heart w/wings image on black cs and cut out. I cut wings off of heart and attached to hour glass. Pop-dotted the heart and added to card. The large clock stamp is by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous; small watch stamp by See Dee; Heart with wings stamp is by Studio G; "Time Flies" stamp by SandyLions. Used Paper Shapers scalloped photo corner punch on gold cs and used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on them.
