I just received my very first AWARD!

I was reading through comments on my latest creation and low and behold, Deanne, of Just Wasting Time, told me to get on over to her blog because she had something for me. And this is what I found. I have to admit, it brought tears to my eyes. How sweet, kind, thoughtful, generous.........and the list goes on. Thank you, thank you, thank you Deanne. I cannot even begin to tell you how much this means to me!

The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.
Because I am a fairly new blogger I only have 4 people to pass this award on to:

June Houck: Simply Elegant Paper Crafts
Sonia Kertznus: Scraps 4 Fun
Karen Giron: The Sweetest Thing
Samantha: Penrith Crafts

Thanks so much ladies! You all have influenced and enhanced my blogging experience!......................Deanna

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #13

This one is for The Sweetest Thing Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I used pretty much the same supplies I had out from this morning's card :) I am so understanding how June is inspired by her designer papers!

Recipe: Deja View's Blue Raspberry Paisley dp

brown, light blue, and white cs

Vintage Photo Distress Inkpad

Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch

Memory Boutique Deco Hardware metal corner stickers & brads

K&Company Thank You stamp by Amy Butler

deco corner punch by EK Success

Sizzix Paislies texture plate

I think you can pretty much tell everything I did here. It is difficult to see in the pic, but I used the Sizzix Paislies texture plate (with my Cuttlebug) on all the light blue paper. Hope you like it!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #9

My friend June suggested I try this blog challenge out. It is The Pink Elephant Challenge #9: Recipe Challenge---Use stamps, embossing and punches. I just remembered it this morning. So, ran downstairs to my craft studio (a bit of a stretch to call it that but I like the sound of it :)
and made up this card in about 15 minutes.
Recipe: Deja View Blue Raspberry Paisley dp
brown, light blue and white cs/white card
Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo distress inks
SU! Cute and Curly stamp set and coordinating punch
Sizzix Paislies texture plate for embossing w/CB
Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch
brown ribbon/blue brads
I embossed the white panel with the Paislies texture plate---then ran the Weathered Wood distress ink pad over it followed by the Vintage Photo distress ink; double matted this panel.
Cut a panel of the Deja View dp and double matted it. Overlapped these two panels on a white card that I had inked the edges of. Punched border along a white strip of cs with MS Eyelet border punch and then inked with Vintage Photo distress ink pad---used parts of this strip thruout the card. Stamped SU! sentiment w/vintage photo ink and punched out and double matted. Added foam tape to this element for dimension. Added ribbon and brads for detail.

Crafter Gone MAD!

Okay, so I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about making this card---should I question my sanity?! :) Another one for the Cuttlebug Challenges Rendezvous Monday CAS.
I ran the black panel thru my CB with the Sizzix texture plate Wild Dashes. Ran the Kraft strip thru my Fiskars crimper. On strip of white cs I used Fiskars Upper Crest border punch on both sides (idea I got from my Design Diva friend, June; see her award winning card here). Used SU! stamp from Cute and Curly set and used coordinating punch to punch it out. Birthday wishes stamp by See D's. Added ribbon and pop-dotted sentiment piece. Matted all on white card (hard to see in pic).

Happy B-day Hubby!

It is my wonderful husband's birthday today. I have been working on this card for awhile---wanted to make it extra special for him :)
I used Denim and Pesto alcohol inks with the Copper mixative on photo paper for main background paper. I used the Denim ink again on the back of the microscope slide with the blender solution. I wiped clean the area that I was to stamp the sentiment on. I used Olive Green Stazon ink for the happy birthday sentiment (See D's stamp). I rimmed the slide with copper tape. I used a copper leaf and copper thread for decoration. On a small piece of white cs I added three copper snaps, cut out with deckle edge blade and inked edges with Peeled Paint Distress ink then added to top right of card. Layered all on navy and olive green cs and adhered to a white card. Edged card with Peeled Paint Distress ink as well. Tell me whatcha think!

Cuttlebug Challenges Rendezvous Monday: CAS Color Challenge

Okay, so you know I had all this out on my scrap space so I couldn't resist eeking out another CAS card for Cuttlebug Challenges. I just love this color combo. So sweet and simple. Here is what I did: I ran a strip of kraft paper thru my CB with a Sizzix texture plate Diagonals. Stamped sentiment from Cute and Curly SU! set and punched out with coordinating SU! punch. Matted that on white then black cs; pop-dotted it onto the embossed kraft strip. Took a black panel and put a strip of Heidi Swapp's black and white polka dot tape across it. Put kraft panel on top of that. Mounted entire black panel onto a white card.
Added the ribbons and all done. Here it is...............

Cuttlebug Challenge Monday Rendezvous--Color Clean and Simple

This was fun and fairly simple! I used the CB ef Mosaic on main black panel---then sanded for white core to show thru; mounted this on white card; used CB ef formal squares on kraft paper for corners; I punched them out with the scalloped photo corner punch by Paper Shapers---then rubbed gently with a black ink pad on raised image; For the white panel---I used CB ef Swiss dots then used the Fiskars Oval punch Violets are Blue on right edge for deco border; mounted this on kraft paper that I paper pierced on top and bottom borders; added white and black ribbons to left of this panel. Stamped SU! Cute and Curly image with thank you sentiment on kraft paper and punched out with coordinating SU! punch---then popped dotted for dimension. Finally, added three silver square brads.

Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #54: Citrus Colours!

Okay, here it is---my card for Cute Card Thursday's Citrus Colours Challenge: Again, not sure I can do cute cards so well. Anyway, hope it is 'citrusy' enough :)
The fairy word and image is a rub-on as well as the butterfly. The sentiment is a sticker. Used my scalloped corner photo corner punch by Paper Shapers and then ran them thru the CB with the Tiny Bubbles ef. Used the Fiskars Effervescence border punch on the right side of card. Added polka dot ribbon and yellow brads. Distressed edges of main green panel with side of scissor blade.

Cardvaark Good Knight Challenge

This card is for Cardvaark's Good Knight/Fantasy Challenge. Don't know if I am meant to make "cute" cards but here it is :)

Taking a cue from my Design Diva friend June, I decided to go thru my "stash" to do this project.

The fairy, butterflies and word fairy are rub-ons (which I rarely use). The sentiment is actually a sticker (which I also rarely use). I cuttlebugged the lavender panel with the D'Vine swirl CB embossing folder. I used a Sakura shimmer pen (given to me by Chris, another Design Diva!). I rubbed white Perfect Pearl powder around the fairy image for some more shimmer. Used my Fiskars deckle edge blade on some of the panels. Added the oblong rhinestones for some extra bling.

Sheetload and Cuttlebug Challenge Intersite Challenge: Be Inspired #25

My submission for the sketch this week on Cuttlebug Challenges and Sheetloads:

For this I used the Argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder on center aqua panel. The dp and rub-on (on the bottom right) are from Memory Boutique. The Happy Birthday sentiment (from See-D) was stamped with Teal Blue Stazon Ink. the diamond shapes and sentiment were hand cut out. It is hard to see in the picture, but I paper pierced a half diamond on the backround piece of aqua cs in between the two other diamond shapes (perhaps click on the up close version to see this). I also inked the edges of the cream card with Tea Dye Distress ink. All adhered to an acetate base card (difficult to make out in this pic).

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #24: Emboss It Twice

So the challenge at Cuttlebug Spot was to emboss twice. On this card I embossed cream cs with the Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder; then inked over raised image with Shabby Shutters Distress ink. Then I took 3 (of the 4) small deco circle frame embossing folders and embossed over this paper; I inked these raised images with Broken China Distress Ink. Some of this ink also touched on the tiny bubbles and the inks mixed for a third color. I then used the SU scalloped cirlce punch to punch out all three of these images. I used Memory Boutique dp and corner flourish rub-ons. I inked the edges of the aqua cs with the Shabby Shutters Distress ink; Used Fiskars Effervesence border punch on the aqua cs and Cuttlebugged it with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder as well. Added the ribbon accents and the sentiment.
